So what'd I learn? Stay educated even when something is outside of your routine and more importantly - every calorie counts. Stop thinking in absolutes! Just as you can have days that were worse than you originally thought, it can also work the other way so just keep plugging away instead of throwing in the towel when you think you've had a slip-up.
I was very frustrated at myself for doing this but instead of dwelling, I decided to look at the week as a whole and compensate the rest of the time to make up for my dodgy start. It's tough but I'm sticking to 1200-1300 a day for the rest of the week (except Saturday where I'll have 1600 to keep the metabolism working) and hopefully my Sunday-Tuesday screw up won't have mattered too much. I will definitely not be making the same mistake next week though... I'd much prefer to enjoy my 1500 a day than having 2 big days then virtually starving the rest of the week (don't worry - I'm not actually starving, I'm just trying to make a point).
PS Have finally overcome my protein shake aversion (cue hallelujah chorus) which has been a HUGE factor in getting my calories down and will also mean I can actually meet my protein quota from now on! If anyone is interested, Bsc has brought out a range called "Body for Women" which includes a Summer Berries flavoured "shaping" protein (protein plus other supplements to help with weight loss/fluid retention) and my recipe for an amazing smoothie is as follows:
1 scoop Summer Berries protein
6 medium strawberries (or 1/2 cup frozen berries)
1/2 banana
200mL ice & water
(and this morning I also added some mango puree - drool!)
Try it! You'll thank me.
Glad you're back Kat. I personally reckon if you have a bad day, don't try and compensate for it the next day. Just stick to the plan you already had for the next day(s). Don't punish yourself, but just say that's life, then get back on the program. Just my 2c worth (you know I think I'm an expert now :-)).

I actually completely with you on this one... Normally I wouldn't bother except that auditions are starting up in a week or two which means I'm running out of time to see results and couldn't bear the thought that I'd wasted days of that being stupid! And you have every right to think you're an expert - you've already done what I'm trying to do!
