12 months later...

She's baaa-aaack! And this time with a new font.

So a LOT has happened in the -eek- year that I haven't been blogging. I'm sure it'll all come up soon enough in my vlog's so I'll just get to it and back-track later.

This is me back for real, for 12 weeks (maybe forever??) because I've just started taking part in Goodlife Health Club's 12 Week Transformation Challenge and to make things a bit different, I'll be vlogging this time. I also have a personal trainer so won't be falling off the wagon at the half-way mark like I usually do. Oops. Anyways here it is - enjoy!

  1. Hi Kat...

Enjoyed your latest edition of your very personal and brave challenge. It inspired me on many levels, some of which I will discuss below.

Mind if I join you!..Yep...on Valentine's day this year, I decided it was time to lose the extra 13kg..yep! (started out as water retention from a dodgy medication I was put on.back in March of 2012....but now, it has moved in!). Have always enjoyed 'care free" fitness. I have always enjoyed "max" results from my long distance running, swimming, squash and other "endurance type" sports. When I say "care free" it is In that I don't really eat junk to speak of..even my "chocolate" is good for me! (Dark bittersweet...good for men apparently).

I am and have always been a "grazer"...like my new bunny, I now realise. Each day, I eat all day long...a celery stick here, an apple slice there...some bit of fish I prepared the night before. So..my issue is getting it burned back off via cardio and light free weight exercise.

My fav is swimming, but now I am too subconscious to head off to the pool as I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror one day and thought I was seeing an "older" beer belly version of myself...

So...when I heard your story, I related..and I am working to lose all that extra 13 kg by June of this year via committed exercise. I have already noticed a difference in my respiration (the weight made my heart work so much harder cus it was the heaviest ever I have weighed in my life and felt like I was about 5 months pregnant or had a back pack hanging off the front of my hips!).

Like you said...it's not simply about looks..that is the bonus. My intention is for health reasons and taking action where I know I should and can do. When you are my age (62), the body is not as resilient and actually is always "ready" to be lazy about weight. Well, I have never been my "age" and I am not going to let my body decide differently. Yes, I respect it has been around for a quite a while, so I am mindful to take it easy and keep the doctor's involved, but I believe it is a goal I can achieve.

Like you, I seem to "lose it" (as in intiative), about the same time that psychologists say you will have formed a new habit....eg., six weeks. I know!. So it will be good to know you are there working literally "your tummy off" while I am doing the same.

As alway, cheering in the grandstand..or from the Main Street that you are walking down now. xox -M

  2. p.s. don't know why this comment section is identifying me as the name of my "unused blog" "stillstanding" but doesn't matter..as long as you know it is me.. M Darrah :)
